Bowling Finishes Strong At SWAC East Round Up

The Alabama State bowling team concluded a strong weekend at the SWAC East Round up with a 9-3 record to finish second behind Jackson State the 2015 Regular Season Champs. 
 
The Lady Hornets started the day with wins over Grambling State (907-659) before dropping a match against Texas Southern (901-898).  Alabama State was able to bounce back with a win over Southern (1,031-846) to close out the weekend.
 
ASU finished the regular SWAC season 17-7 (26,577) despite having more total pin falls than Prairie View (18-6/25,881) and Jackson State (19-5/26,267).  Alabama State will be the third seed going into the SWAC Tournament in Arlington, Texas March 20-22.
 
Lindsay Paredes finished the rounds as the top freshman with a total pin count of 5,467 out of 28 games. She averaged 195 pins per game. Senior Danielle Walker finished both round-ups with a total pin fall of 5,843 with a pin average of 208.  Junior Kaila Ryan finished the round up behind Walker averaging 203 and a total pin count 5,686.
 
The Lady Hornets will compete in their final regular season bowling matches March 6-8 at the Music City Invitational hosted by Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tenn.
