MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Alabama State University men's tennis team dropped their non-conference match to the University of New Orleans 4-2 at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center Monday afternoon.
The Hornets were able to jump ahead early by claiming the doubles point with wins at number one and three in the morning hour. The number one team of
Ion Efrim and
Takura Mlambo claimed a 7-6 hard-fought victory over number one; while the team of
Carl-Louis Luckmann and
Tomas Fernandez claimed a 7-6 victory at number three for the overall 1-0 lead.
Alabama State managed to win one singles match on the day as Fernandez won at number four over Nicolas Kramer 6-4, 6-2; before UNO was able to win four consecutive singles matches for the victory.
