HOUSTON | Alabama State capped off the Track Kat Klash by grabbing victories in two of three matches to bring their season total to 10 wins.
The Lady Hornets opened the day by dispatching Southern University before dropping a tight contest to Prairie View A&M, 2-4. Alabama State then battled Southern once again and dominated in all four matchups, winning each by an average 37.25 pins.
Bailee Chapman notched a score of 243 while
Haley Young bowled a 212.
Alex Copey led the way in the first matchup with Southern (202).
The Lady Hornets finished the tournament with four wins in a field dominated by nationally-ranked teams. At an average of 169 pins per game, they were just 11 pins shy a contest of breaking into the top eight.
"We finished the weekend on a high note, especially our last set, and now we need to carry that momentum over to next week," Alabama State head coach
Andrew Chatmon said.
The Lady Hornets return to action November 9-11 with the Sonic Boom Invitational in Jackson, Miss.
