Myrtle Beach, S.C. | An impressive showing on the final 18 holes at The GolfWeek Collegiate Championship propelled Alabama State to dual top ten finishes, as the Lady Hornets posted a ninth place result while the men jumped four spots to finish 10th.

Freshman Abigail Pederson (T31) had a birthday to remember as she aced hole No. 3 at Caledonia Golf and Fish Club, a 142-yard par three. Pederson continued her torrid play by carding three additional birdies en route to a three-under 68 – which included a 32 on the front nine – tying former Lady Hornet Channelle Avaricio's freshman record (three-under 69). Ben Swaffield (T20) punctuated a strong closing round for the men, posting a 69 with four birdies. Swaffield's score marked the fourth lowest of the day while the cumulative 286 for the men was the eighth best round.

Noel Sims (T24) was steady for the third consecutive day, finishing with a three day score of -1 and Thacher Neal (T37) posted his lowest round of the season (-2), leading all Hornets with five birdies. Teammate Thomas Caddell carded two birdies and closed with a 76 to finish 63rd. Mbongeni Maphosa Jr. had a bogey-free front nine en route to his best day of the tournament (76) to finish 68th among individuals. The Hornets turned in an impressive 14 birdies in the final round.

Shania Jones fired a 78 and finished in a tie for 33rd while Kei Harris' 82 (T40), Mack Bailey's 81 and Jade Sanders' 78 (58th) maintained the Lady Hornets ninth place standing over the duration of the final day.
