@BamaStateBowl heads to Florida for the Rattler Invitational

Lady Hornets have won 15 of their last 16 contests

MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Fresh off a tournament title at the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) West Roundup, Alabama State looks to carry the momentum to Pensacola, Fla. this weekend for the FAMU Rattler Invitational.

As with all tournaments up to this juncture in the season, action runs from Friday through Sunday and will feature Baker and total team score competition.  In addition to host Florida A&M and Alabama State, Alabama A&M, Bethune Cookman, Grambling State, Jackson State, Louisiana Tech and Southern will all be competing at Cordova Lanes.

CHATMON WINS NO. 500
  • Alabama State picked up 11 wins at last weekend's Roundup to vault to the top of the SWAC standings with a league record of 11-1.
  • Head coach Andrew Chatmon picked up career win No. 500 following Alabama State's 964 – 729 win against Alabama A&M
  • The Lady Hornets are riding a three-game win streak after dropping their lone match of the Roundup to Jackson State (921 – 859)

WHAT'S NEXT
  • After competing for three consecutive weeks, Alabama State will enjoy some time off before travels to D'Iberville, Miss.  February 16-18 for the SWAC East Roundup.
