PENSACOLA, Fla. | Alabama State continued its torrid play Saturday, qualifying as the number one seed heading into Sunday's championship round.
The Lady Hornets will be seeking their second consecutive tournament championship when they open tomorrow as the number one seed against No. 14 Louisiana Tech. If Alabama State defeats the Lady Techsters, they would qualify for an automatic berth in the tournament finals.
INDIVIDUAL LEADERBOARD
Senior
Haley Young sits atop the leaderboard after totaling 1,018 pins in five matches, averaging 203.60. The Baton Rouge, La. native bowled three games over 200 (213, 212, 233) en route to her first place standing.
Gabrielle Hosein is in third place with a cumulative 962 (192.40). Hosein was consistent, bowling a 214 and 205 as a part of her five matches. The duo was joined by 2018 SWAC Freshman of the YearÂ
Alize Stevenson in the top five, who finished with an average of 189.20 pins per game.
Freshman
Bailee Chapman (17th place),
Tiarra Wilkins (39th),
Emani Davis (44th) and
Allison Sledge (45th) rounded out the performances for the Lady Hornets.
