BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Alabama State continued its trek through the 2018-19 schedule with the one-day KMS Invitational Sunday at the Birmingham Crossplex.

The Hornets performed admirably, grabbing six top five finishes as coach
Ritchie Beene's team enters the final stretch run of the indoor season. Including Sunday's event, Alabama State only has three events remaining until the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Championship February 14 – 15 at the Crossplex.

NOTABLE LADY HORNETS

Hannah Mezidor posted a sixth place finish in the one mile run following a time of 5:22.52 and came in sixth place in the 800m run (2:19.48).
Nia Jack (seventh place) finished the 200m dash in a time of 25.07.
Xiquaria Reliford finished in 10th place in the weight throw with a distance of 14.47m.
Alabama State won the 4X400 relay with a time of 3:55.51.

Joshua Coffelt crossed the one mile run in third place with a time of 4:27.35.
Marcus Cade jumped 14.04m in the triple jump, good for sixth place; Cade also turned in a tie for fourth place in the high jump.
Caesar Kemp's shot put toss of 16.03m gave him another top-five finish (fourth).
Andrew Jackson snagged a third place finish in the 800m courtesy of a time of 1:56.33.
Alabama State won the 4X400 relay with a time of 3:16.32.
