Alabama State track & field turned in a strong all-around performance this weekend, highlighted by multiple event wins, personal bests, and a facility record on the women's side.

The Lady Hornets were led by senior Rasunek Tyler-Thompson, who dominated the 100m hurdles with a winning time of 13.36 (wind-aided), continuing her standout season. Teammate Jada Chevalier followed closely behind, placing second in 13.51 to give Alabama State a 1-2 finish in the event.

On the track, the women's 4x400m relay team delivered one of the top moments of the meet, capturing first place with a time of 3:46.72, setting a UAB facility record. The relay squad of Lundon Johnson, Aliyah Williams, Tarrianna Jackson, and Jada Chevalier showcased depth and chemistry in a statement performance.

In the sprints, Tarrianna Jackson (11.69) and Chanice Spicer (11.72) both placed in the top three of the women's 100m, while Spicer added another podium finish in the 200m with a second-place time of 24.10. Freshman Shanteria Washington also impressed in the 200m, finishing fourth in 24.44.

On the men's side, the 4x400m relay team earned a podium finish, taking second place with a time of 3:13.11. The group of Nickory Richards, Chad Gaffney, Ainsley Campbell, and Isaiah Riggins showed strong form heading into the heart of the outdoor season.

In field events, freshman Amaya Burrows led the way with a third-place finish in the discus (40.47m) and also competed in the javelin. Fellow freshman Erica McGary added to the team's success with a third-place finish in the shot put (12.18m) and a personal best in the hammer throw (39.71m).

Other notable performances included Nathaniel Olofintuyi clearing a personal-best 2.01m in the high jump for a fourth-place finish, and Jon Coulter recording a personal-best 4:01.01 in the 1500m.
