PENSACOLA, Fla. | Alabama State claimed its second consecutive tournament title, taking home the top honors at the Rattler Invitational.
The Lady Hornets (53-37) finished the tournament with a 12-1 record and have now won 27 of their last 29. Included among the results were four wins against No. 14 Louisiana Tech, including the tournament championship. Alabama State tallied the highest total pin count (12, 496) and bowled an average of 181.1 pins per game.

Gabrielle Hosein were named to the All-Tournament team.
Noteworthy
Alabama State bowled three games of 1,000-plus pins in Sunday's final round, tallying 1,102, 1,132 and 1,335 en route to the tournament crown. The Lady Hornets sandwiched two wins against the Lady Techsters (4-2, 4-3) around a dismantling (4 – 2) of Alabama A&M.

"The ladies had an awesome weekend. We had a few ups and downs, but handled it very well. We beat the No. 14 team on four occasions this weekend, which shows that are executing extremely well in addition to having three on the all tournament team and the MVP," Alabama State head coach Andrew Chatmon said.
