MONTGOMERY, Ala. | After a stellar collegiate career that saw her win four consecutive Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) low medalist honors, former Alabama State golfer
Chanelle Avaricio took another step in her career this month.
Avaricio finished third with a 205 after posting a 2-under 70 in the final day, taking the low amateur honors in the ninth leg of the seventh Ladies Philippine Golf Tour (LPGT) season put up by ICTSI and organized by Pilipinas Golf Tournaments, Inc.
The tournament was her final tournament as an amateur, as she earned her Ladies Philippine Golf Tour (LPGT) card to play professionally.
In her last collegiate tournament, Avaricio beat out teammate
Nia Station by one shot, finishing six over par for the tournament and a two-day total of 150 to win her fourth consecutive SWAC golf title.
