@BamaStateTFXC set to compete at Jaguar Invitational

MONTGOMERY, Ala. | With just two weeks remaining until the conference championships, Alabama State heads to Birmingham to compete in the Jaguar Invitational at the Birmingham Crossplex.

The Hornets will compete for the second consecutive weekend after their performance at the KMS Open last weekend at the Crossplex. During that competition, Alabama State claimed a pair of golds and number top eight finishes that landed the program three athlete of the week awards from the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC).

Alabama State looks to improve on several of the top conference performances they already hold including on the women's side in the 60-meters, 200-meters, 800-meters, 1-mile run, and 4x400-meter relay. They also own 13 times and/or distances in the top six in the conference on the women's side heading into the weekend. Meanwhile, on the men's side, Alabama State owns the top spot in the 5000-meters, pole vault, long jump, and triple jump. They also own 11 times and/or distances in the conference on the men's side.

The Hornets will compete against teams from UT-Arlington, Georgia State, Stephen F. Austin, UAB, ULM, Louisiana, Little Rock, Samford, Southern Miss, Mississippi Valley State, Louisiana Tech, UAH, Arkansas State, and Western Kentucky.

The meet is scheduled for Sunday in Birmingham.
