PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. | Alabama State finished second at the WIGF Championships this week at the Callaway Gardens-Lake View Course in their final tune-up for the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Championships set for next week.
Alabama State shot a team score of 316 in the final round to finish the tournament at 70-over par (630), finishing behind tournament champion North Carolina A&T who finished at 57-over par (617). The Lady Hornets finished ahead of Delaware State at 73-over par (633) and Savannah State at 109-over par (669).
Jade Sanders finished as the top individual for Alabama State with a 10-over (150) to finish fourth overall. She followed up her first round 3-over (73) with a final round 7-over (77), while her teammate
Kei Harris shot a final round 5-over (75) to finish fifth overall with a two-round total of 13-over (153).
Alma Garcia recorded a top-10 finish in the tournament, finishing ninth overall with an 18-over par (158) following identical rounds of 79. Meanwhile,
Iman Adams finished tied for 12th overall in the tournament with a 24-over (164).
Alabama State returns to action at the conference championships which is set to take place April 19-21 in Alexandria (La.).
