ALEXANDRIA, La. | A trio of Lady Hornets find themselves in the top five leading Alabama State to an opening round lead at the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Championships Monday.
Kei Harris leads all golfers after the opening round at 4-over (76), holding the lead by one stroke over teammate
Jade Sanders at 5-over (77). Meanwhile,
Alma Garcia is tied for fourth overall with a 9-over (81) to help lead Alabama State to the overall lead with a team total of 317.
The Lady Hornets lead the tournament by four strokes at 29-over, leading Texas Southern who finished the opening round with 33-over (249). Taylor Harvey of Prairie View A&M is third overall with a 6-over (78), while her teammate Gabrielle Lawrence and A'Marie Smith of Texas Southern are tied for fourth overall following an opening round 81.
The tournament's final round is scheduled for Tuesday morning.
