BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Alabama State Hornets completed their first indoor meet of the season at the Birmingham Southern College Icebreaker. The Hornets got off to a strong start to the season with three athletes securing top-three finishes in the meet.

Freshman Jamarion Stubbs finished second overall in the 60-meter with a time of 6.84. Kendrick Winfield finished first with the fastest overall seed time in the field with 6.78 in 60-meter

Freshman Jon Coulter finished eighth overall in the mile with a time of 4:36.51 while fellow teammate Junior Amos Beadle came in 11th overall with a time of 4:41.68.

Abdiqadir Mohamed came in second in the 3,000 m with a time of 8:57.25.

The Hornet "A" and "B" 4x400 relay teams finished in the top-four. The quartet of Stubbs,
Justus Trainer, Khabeeba Mills, and Winfield finished first overall with a time of 3:16.95 while the B team of Daquan Tate, Victor Smith, Treon Mitchell, and Joshua Knox finished fourth in 3:19.69

On the women's side, All-Conference senior
Shamia Jones finished second in the mile with a time of 5:08.38. Deleverna Broomfield finished 10th overall in the 400-meter with a time of 59.64

Adding on to the men's team's success, the A and B teams of the 4x400 relay finished in the top three. The quartet of Chloe Vines, Kahiyah Anderson, Jones, and
Morgan O'Neal finished second with a time of 3:53.99. The squad of Yazmine Grace, Broomfield,
Taranique Alexander, and Wickett finished third in a time of 3:54.90

The Hornets are off for holiday break but return to action on January 13th & 14th for the Rod McCravy Invitational in Lexington, KY.
