BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Alabama State fired a 70-over par 348 to finish second after the opening round at the 2022 Birmingham Spring Invitational hosted by the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) on Monday.
Teresa Diez Dorte (Santa Cruz De Tenerife, Spain) is in fourth after the opening round, shooting a 12-over 84, while her teammate
Katie Robinson (American Canyon, Calif.) sits in fifth after the opening day following a 13-over 85.
The Highlights
- Along with the duo in the top 10, the Hornets have three golfers just outside looking in. McKenzie LeDuff (Lake Charles, La.) sits 11th with a 22-over 94, while Hallie Bridgers (Baltimore, Md.) is just one shot back after a 23-over (95).
- Iman Adams (Cape Town, South Africa) rounds out the field for Alabama State, finishing tied for 12th with Bridgers in the opening round.

- The Hornets are matched up against a pair conference foes this week in Birmingham.
- Texas Southern and Prairie View A&M round out the field.
Next Round
- The tournament concludes with the final round on Tuesday morning.
