DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. | Alabama State used three pitchers and seven hits to win the third and final game of their road Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) series, 6-3 over Bethune-Cookman at "The Jack" on Sunday.
Austin King (Fulton, Miss.) got the start for the Hornets and worked 3.2 innings allowing a pair of runs off five hits with four strikeouts and three walks before being lifted.
Payton Harris (Hattiesburg, Miss.) came on for King and worked 4.1 innings out of the bullpen. Harris (1-2) gave up one run on three hits with a pair of strikeouts and three walks, before
Shadai Colon (Rio Grande, PR) came to work the final inning of scoreless relief to pick up his first save of the season.
Alabama State (12-12, 4-2 SWAC) used seven hits to pull away from Bethune-Cookman including three from
Chris Lewis (Alabaster, Ala.) as he went 3-for-5 in the contest.

- B4 | Bethune-Cookman got on the board first as the Hornets turned a double play with no one out in the inning, and then added to the lead on an RBI single (2-0, Bethune-Cookman).
- T6 | Cristopher DeGuzman (Fajardo, PR) drove in the first run of the game for the Hornets on a single to left to score Chris Lewis (Alabaster, Ala.), before Hunter May (Slidell, La.) reached on an outfield error that scored a pair of runs. Luis Rodriguez (Canovanas, PR) drove home May as a pinch hitter to give the Hornets the lead for good (4-2, Alabama State).
- B7 | The Wildcats used an RBI double to pull within a run (4-3, Alabama State).
- T9 | Corey King (Lithonia, Ga,) tripled home Jabronski Williams (Troy, Ala.) before Trenton Jamison (Atlanta, Ga.) reached on a fielder's choice to drive in King (6-3, Alabama State).
