Alabama State closes play at 2022 Babs Steffens Invitational

Hornets return to action at the SWAC Championships in April

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. | Teresa Diez Dorte (Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain) finished tied for 46th overall, leading Alabama State at the 2022 Babs Steffens Invitational hosted by Stetson at the LPGA International Hills Course.

Dorte saved her best round for last, shooting a 7-over 79 in the final round of play to finish the tournament tied with Towson's Rayab Lee at 28-over 244. Her final round total was one shot better than her opening round 8-over 80. Tia Kimbrough (Bellville, Ill.) also had her best round of the tournament in the final round with an 11-over 83 to finish 54th overall.

Hallie Bridgers (Baltimore, Md.) also had her best round of the tournament on Monday in the final round with a 12-over 84 for the Hornets, while Iman Adams (Cape Town, South Africa) was one shot better in the final round than how she opened the tournament.

Anna Nordfors (Campbell) was tied for third heading into the final round, but a 1-over 73 helped her outduel her teammate Sanna Lundmark and two others for the top medalist honors with a 4-over 220.

Alabama State finished the round with their best score of the tournament at 337 to finish 11th overall. Campbell won the tournament title by 23 strokes at 17-over 881, beating Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Boston University.
