MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Kyler McIntosh (Columbus, Ind.) kept Jackson State off balance and
Jabronski Williams (Troy, Ala.) supplied the power as Alabama State claimed their Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) series with a 6-3 victory over Jackson State at the Wheeler-Watkins Baseball Complex on Saturday night. The series win is the second series win at home in conference play for the Hornets and the fifth series win of the season for the Hornets.
McIntosh (2-3) picked up the win working 5.1 innings and allowing just one run on four hits with six strikeouts.
Payton Harris (Hattiesburg, Miss.) picked up his second save of the season working 3.2 innings of relief and allowing two runs on three hits. Alabama State (14-13, 6-2 SWAC) led 4-1 in the sixth when Williams stepped to the plate and smashed a ball over the right field wall to push the lead to 6-1.
Williams led Alabama State at the plate, finishing the day 2-for-3 with three RBI.

- B2 | Dilan Espinal (Canovanas, PR) put pressure on the Jackson State defense with a squeeze driving in Christian Lopez from third (1-0, Alabama State).
- B3 | Cristopher DeGuzman (Fajardo, PR) scored on a wild pitch (2-0, Alabama State).
- B4 | Trenton Jamison (Atlanta, Ga.) scored on a sacrifice fly by Williams after going first to third on a sacrifice bunt by Espinal (3-0, Alabama State).
- T6 | Ty Hill doubled to left center, scoring Jatavis Melton to put the Tigers on the board (3-1, Alabama State).
- B6 | Williams drove a ball over the right field wall to score Espinal before Hunter May (Slidell, La.) drove home a run on a sacrifice fly (6-1, Alabama State).
