Alabama State set to compete in WIGF National Women's Collegiate Golf Championship

Tournament will be played in Atlanta

MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Women In Golf Foundation (WIGF) will host their 2022 National Women's Collegiate Golf Championship, April 25- 27, 2022, at Eagles Landing Country Club in Stockbridge, Georgia: a three-day program for HBCU women's golf teams. The program will once again include both virtual and in-person options for the Professional Development Forum and it will resume its Business–Community/ Collegiate Scramble on Monday.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, the young ladies will compete in the 36-hole championship tournament for the honor to take home "The Renee Powell Cup", which was won in 2021 by North Carolina A&T Women's Golf Team. As always, WIGF will adhere to all required COVID-19 protocols.

This year's theme is "The Culture of a Champion!"

Leadership. Equity. Inclusion.

The Professional Development Forum will offer the collegians the opportunity to gain insights that will enhance their careers and learn new strategies on how to compete and navigate today's environment. WIGF seeks "participation and public support which is critical to providing networking and mentoring experiences to help these young women prepare for their future in the marketplace as interns, entrepreneurs, graduate school students, and/or employees," said today's announcement, which stated, "Our goal is to contribute to the development and grooming of this remarkable group of talented young women, confidently preparing them for their next step. These young golfers are our future leaders."

The Women In Golf Foundation, Inc., headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, is a 501-C3 organization that promotes women in golf. The organization focuses on creating opportunities for females by implementing programs that develop leadership and life skills as they learn to play the game of golf competitively for business and recreational purposes.
