STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. | Alabama State finds itself in sixth after opening round play at the National Women's Collegiate Championship hosted at the Eagle's Landing Country Club on Tuesday.
The Hornets shot an opening round 53-over 341, placing them four shots back of Chicago State and eight back of Prairie View A&M. They enter the second round 14 shots behind Texas Southern in third.
Katie Robinson (American Canyon, Calif.) leads the Hornets after an opening round 11-over 83 to place her in a tie for 14th overall, just three shots out of eighth and four out of seventh. Meanwhile,
Teresa Diez Dorte (Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain) and
McKenzie LeDuff (Lake Charles, La.) are tied for 18th overall after identical opening round 85s.
Tia Kimbrough (Bellville, Ill.),
Hallie Bridgers (Baltimore, Md.), and
Iman Adams (Cape Town, South Africa) round out the field for Alabama State after the opening round of play.
