BLOOMINGTON, Ind. | Matthew Clarke (Six Roads, Barbados) and Kyana Evans (Detroit, Mich.) are set to compete in the opening round of the East Preliminary held at Indiana this week.

Clarke will compete in the 200-meters on Wednesday night with the opening round set for 8:45 pm, and the senior will not have to wait long as he will be running in the opening heat. Clarke qualified with a wind-aided time of 20.63 seconds and has a personal best of 10.69 seconds. He will be running in lane five and will be in a heat featuring Eric Harrison (Ohio State), DeAnthony Nervis (Southern), Luke Finnegan (Miami), Royal Burris (East Carolina), Cameron Rose (Clemson), Shamar Rose (Mississippi State), and Alaba Akintola (Middle Tennessee).

The heat will be one of six run on Wednesday night with the top three from each heat advancing to the next round, along with the next six fastest times.

Meanwhile, Evans will have to wait another day to run as the 400-meter hurdles will be run on Thursday night at 8:20 pm. The senior qualified with a time of 59.33 seconds and has a personal best of 58.53 second in the event in her career. She will be running in heat five in lane five and will be running against Kyla Robinson-Hubbard (Tennessee). Lydia Troupe (Georgia Tech). Dejah Grant (Hampton), Jewel Ash (Charleston Southern), Tessa Constantine (West Virginia), Savannah Sutherland (Michigan), and Asia Jinks (Auburn).

The heat will be one of six run on Thursday night with the top three from each heat advancing to the next round, along with the next six fastest times.
