MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Georgia State used a pair of home runs from Max Ryerson to push past Alabama State in non-conference action 13-7Â at the Wheeler-Watkins Baseball Complex.
Alabama State (24-18) fell behind early before tying the game at 5-all in the fourth with a triple and an RBI groundout, however, Georgia State book ended the Panthers' scoring with a home run in the first and another in the eighth.
Kevin Matos (San Juan, PR), the second of six pitchers used on the night by the Hornets suffered the loss working 4.0 innings and allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits.
Corey King (Lithonia, Ga.) led Alabama State at the plate, finishing 2-for-4 with three RBI while
Kyler McIntosh (Columbus, Ind.) finished 2-for-4, and
Kerrigan Edmondson (Trussville, Ala.) Â 2-for-3 with a triple.

- T1 | Max Ryerson hit a two-run home run to left to give Georgia State an early lead (2-0, Georgia State).
- T2 | Caleb Stewart singled to center to drive in another run for the Panthers (3-0, Georgia State).
- B2 | Jabronski Williams (Troy, Ala.) reached on a throwing error to score Trenton Jamison (Atlanta, Ga.) before King drove in a pair with a single to left (3-3).
- T3 | Dylan Strickland doubled to left center to drive in a pair of runs (5-3, Georgia State).
- B4 | Edmondson tripled to left to score Williams before Edmondson scored on an RBI groundout by King (5-5).
- T6 | Cameron Jones scored on a passed ball (6-5, Georgia State).
- T7 | Strickland singled to center to drive in a run with another scoring on an outfield error before Josh Smith laid down a bunt to score another run (9-5, Georgia State).
- T8 | Luke Boynton singled through the left side to drive in a run before Ryerson hit his second home run of the game – a three-run shot to right (13-5, Georgia State).
- B9 | Christian Lopez (San Diego, Calif.) drove a run of the game with a single to shallow center before Jamison singled home another run (13-7, Georgia State).
