Lady Hornets Finish Delaware State Invitational in Eighth Place

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. - On the final day of the Delaware State Invitational, the Alabama State women's golf team finished in eighth place out of an 11-team field after three rounds of play.

Alabama State registered an opening round of 307 followed by a 314 second-round performance and 330 strokes in the final round. Sacred Heart University placed first in the tournament after carding rounds of 288, 300, and 298 as a team.

Thayia Kittiyanaruewat finished play tied for 22nd after recording a 3-over (74) first round, 79 in the second, and 81 in the final 36 holes for a total of 234. 

Teresa Diaz Dorte carded a final round of 84 to finish tied for 32nd place while Katie Robinson finished in 36th place after recording 82 total strokes through the final 36 holes.

Franca Siebeneck finished just three places behind Robinson in a tie for 39th place. Siebeneck carded a final round of 84 to finish with a 241 three-round total. 

Iman Adams improved after finishing in 49th place as opposed to 52nd on day one. Adams finished with a final round of 83, bringing her to a 250-stroke total.

The Alabama State women's golf team returns to action next Monday (Sept. 26) and Tuesday (Sept. 27) as they head to Greensboro, N.C. for the Lady Aggies Fall Invitational hosted by North Carolina A&T University.
