BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Alabama State picked up several wins at the CCB Invitational hosted by Samford this past weekend in Birmingham featuring teams from all over the Southeast to close out the fall portion of its schedule.

Lun Obrul finished third in the Bulldog Singles bracket after a pair of wins to start the tournament. He defeated fourth-seed Juan Diego Rojas of Charleston to start the tournament in straight sets 6-4, 6-0, and followed that up with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Theo Mottier of South Alabama in the quarterfinals.

After falling 7-5, 6-2 to Nazar Fedoryshyn of North Alabama, Obrul bounced back with a 7-6(5), 1-0 (retired) win over Zach Murphy of Jacksonville State.

Also in the Bulldog Singles bracket,
Matteo Lataste picked up a 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 victory over Benji Jacobson of Tulane, while
Alexandre Verlaguet picked up a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Samford's JB Pickard.

In the Red Singles bracket,
Samrakshyak Bajracharya picked up a win over Juan Accossatto of South Alabama 6-4, 6-3; while top seed
David Jeanne Grandinot picked up a win in the Blue Singles bracket over Shamirul Das of Southern Miss 6-7, 6-3, 6-2.

In doubles action, the team of
Matis Amier and Verlaguet picked up a pair of wins to finish third overall in the Bulldog Doubles bracket, beating teammates Obrul and Bajracharya (second seed) 7-6(5) in the third-place match. Meanwhile, the team of Grandinot and Lataste lost in the consolation finals after splitting their first two matches.
