STARKVILLE, Miss. | The Alabama State University men's and women's track and field teams had three meet champions, three runner-up finishes, and posted three national times on Saturday at the Bulldog Relays

"Despite the weather, we had a solid weekend of competition," said Alabama State University Head Track and Field Coach Ritchie Beene. "Our prayers go out to the families that lost loved ones and everything when the storms passed through Mississippi this weekend. We were blessed it didn't hit us like it did some of the towns near us."Â Â

WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTSÂ Â
- Shamia Jones brought home gold in the 800-m with a 2:10.37. Â
- Morgan O'Neal was the meet champion in the 400-m hurdles, running 1:00.57Â Â
- Delverna Broomfield finished third in the 800-m with a 56.60 while Delverna Broomfield, Rebecca Bernadin, and Taliah Wickett placed fourth, fifth, and sixth, respectively.  Â
- Jaqual Bush claimed fourth with a 24.29 in the 200-m. Â
- The relay team of Rasunek Tyler-Thompson, Jaqual Bush, Shawnakay Peart, Kahliyah Anderson clocked 45.72 to finish second in the 4x100 relay. Â
- Yasmin Grace captured gold in the women's triple jump, 12.20". Â
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTSÂ Â
- Matthew Clarke claimed the meet title while running a top-five national time and a personal record time of 20.58 in the 200-m. Â
- Amos Beadle took second in the 800-m, clocking a 1:52.17. Â
- DeVaughn Vaughn was runner-up in the 400-m hurdles with a 52.85, setting a new school record and a top 30 national time.Â
- In the 400-m, Kendrick Winfield ran a personal best of 46.78 to place third and Daquan Tate was fourth with a new personal best time of 46.83. Both times rank in the top 15 nationally. Â
- Justus Smith finished eighth while also setting a personal record with a 47.67 in the 400-m. Â
- DeVaughn Vaughn was sixth, running a 14.53 in the 100-m hurdles. Â
- Justus Trainer posted a 10.49 to place fourth in the 100-m  Â
- Kendrick Winfield ran a 21.11 to place sixth in the 200-m. Â
- Winfield, Matthew Clarke, Justus Trainer, and Jamrion Stubbs teamed up to place third in the 4x400 relay, posting a 40.13. Â
- Marcus Cade came in second in the triple jump with a 14.95. Â
- Marcus Cade was fourth in the high jump with a 2.03. Â
- Isiaha Palmer broke the school record in the pole vault with a height off 4.3m (14'1"), to earn honorable mention.
