Lady Hornets Win SAS HBCU Golf Invitational

CARY, N.C. | Alabama State University shot a final round 303 to win the 2024 SAS HBCU Invitational hosted by the BCGCA at the par 70 Crestonwood Country Club in Cary, North Carolina Tuesday.

The Lady Hornets shot 297-298-303 to finish for an 898-team aggregate score, 22 strokes ahead of runner-up North Carolina Central.

Thayika Kittiyanaruewat led ASU individually, tying for first but came up short in the first playoff to Tori Mouton from North Carolina A&T. Kittiyanaruewat carded rounds of 73-74-73 to finish with a 10-over, 220, highlighting the tournament with a hole in one on the Par Three, fifth hole on Saturday.

Overall, four Lady Hornets claimed top 10 finishes Lucia Ibanez Parada finished third followed by Carmen Fletcher in fifth and Kierra Williams in ninth while Saika Charles finished 15th.

Parada shot 74-71-77 for a plus-12 222 followed by Fletcher followed at 14-over, 224 (73-73-78). Williams (77-80-75) was 22-over, 232, and Charles finished 32-over, 242 (81-81-80).

North Carolina A&T took third (930) followed by Delaware State (945) and Prairie View A&M (971).
