BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Alabama State finished fourth at the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Indoor Track and Field Championships, winning four events on Sunday at the Birmingham Crossplex.

The Hornets finished with 75 total points, just three points behind UAPB (78).

Jamarion Stubbs was crowned the fastest man in the SWAC with championships in both the 60-meters and 200-meters. Stubbs tied his facility record set in the prelims with a 6.67 seconds before running a 20.94 in the 200-meters.

Khabeeba Mills was crowned conference champion in the 800-meters with a time of 1:53.55, while the 4x400-meter relay team claimed the title in 3:13.00.

Vaughn DeVaughn III and
Jon Coulter each finished second in the 60-meter hurdles and one-mile run respectively. DeVaughn III ran a time of 8.22 seconds in the hurdles while Coulter ran a personal best in the mile at 4:28.11. DeVaughn III also scored points for the Hornets in the 400-meters with a personal best 48.79 seconds.

Joshua Knox led four other Hornets scoring points for Alabama State with a fourth-place finish in the 400-meters in 48.20.
Daniel Bayeshea finished fourth with a season-best throw of 15.47 meters (50-09.25) in the weight throw, while
Seth Stockton finished sixth in the triple jump with a distance of 14.91 meters (48-11.00)

Justus Trainer finished seventh in the 60-meters (6.96) and
Amos Beadle eighth in the 800-meters (2:12.63).
