RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico | The Alabama State women's golf team led wire-to-wire in the Hornet Puerto Rico Invitational at the Grand Reserve Golf Club, earning the tournament championship.
The Lady Hornets finished with a three-day total of 909 (45-over), which was nine shots better than second-place Chicago State, which finished with a total of 918 (54-over).
Bamboo Kittiyanaruewat led the Hornets with a 3-over 219, three shots off the individual champion Salma Ibrahim of Southern University.
Kierra Williams finished fourth overall with an 8-over 224, and
Carmen Fletcher finished 9-over 228, good for seventh place.
ASU will next travel to Katy, Texas for the WGIFHBCU Championship April 1-2.
