Birmingham, AL – The Alabama State Hornets showcased an impressive display of talent and determination at the UAB Spring Invite in Birmingham, Alabama. With multiple athletes achieving personal bests, the event marked a significant milestone in the team's competitive season.
Leading the way in the 2000m steeplechase, Angelique Debgoe delivered a strong performance with a personal best time of 7:37.67, while Alisha Boyer followed closely, setting her own record at 8:05.28.
The 5000m race proved to be another highlight for the Hornets, as Ann Badawi clocked an impressive 18:20.39, and Selket Reid El followed with a solid 19:26.50.
In the hurdles events, Rasunek Tyler-Thompson dominated the 100m hurdles with a stellar 13.86 seconds, while Destini Lewis set a personal best at 15.58 seconds. On the men's side, DeMarco Thompson made a strong impact in the 110m hurdles, finishing in 14.34 seconds.
Daylin Gibson made waves in the 400m, achieving a personal record of 55.87 seconds, while Destini Lewis doubled up in the sprint events, securing a best time of 25.22 seconds in the 200m.
