BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Alabama State University outfielder Fabian Santana was named the Southwestern Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Week announced by the league office on Wednesday.

Santana hit. .636 going 7-for-11 at the plate with three runs scored in four games last week. He slugged .636 and had a.692 on base percentage while fielding 1.000 in 19 chances in the outfield. The Juncos, Puerto Rico native went 6-for-9 with three runs scored and two stolen bases in the Western Illinois seris over the weeked.
