Baton Rouge, La. – Alabama State University Track & Field made a powerful statement at the 2025 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Outdoor Championships in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with the women's team finishing second overall and the men placing third. The Hornets delivered multiple individual SWAC titles and broke several school records in a standout weekend of performances.
Anthony Woods led the way on the men's side, capturing SWAC titles in both the long jump (7.55m) and the triple jump, where his mark of 16.02m set a new school record.
Kennedi McCord dominated the pole vault, clearing 3.48m to win the title and establish a new school record.
On the track, Aliyah Williams took gold in the 1500m with a school-record time of 4:32.45, and Taliah Wickettclinched the 800m title in 2:07.76.
Jamarion Stubbs continued his sprinting dominance, winning both the 100m (10.12) and 200m (20.21), while Vaughn DeVaughn III had a breakout showing in the hurdles — capturing the 400m hurdles title in 50.41 (school record) and setting another ASU record in the 110m hurdles (13.85).
