Alabama State Women's Golf Opens Season at Jayhawk Invitational

LAWRENCE, Kan. | Alabama State University women's golf opened its 2025–26 season at the Jayhawk Invitational, hosted by Kansas at The Jayhawk Club, finishing ninth overall in the 10–team field.

The Hornets posted team rounds of 333, 316, and 319 for a 54–hole total of 968, improving their score by 14 strokes from the opening round to round two.

Leading the way for Alabama State was Carmen Fletcher, who fired rounds of 85, 73, and 80 to finish at 238 (+22), tied for 33rd on the individual leaderboard. Fletcher's second–round 73 marked the Hornets' lowest score of the tournament.

Behind her, Thayika Kittiyanaruewat carded 243 (87–77–79) to place tied for 38th, while Yaiza Fernandez finished with a 256 total (87–82–87). Lucia Ibanez Parada added a 255 (86–85–84), and Kierra Williams rounded out the lineup with 274 (94–88–92).

Competing individually, Iman Shah posted rounds of 78 and 78 before withdrawing in the second round to finish at 156.

ULM captured the team title with an 879, while host Kansas finished second at 889.

Alabama State returns to the course on September 3-5 at the PGA Tour/BCGCA.
