Alabama State Women’s Golf Claims 10th at The Velvet

PADUCAH, Ky. – Alabama State University women's golf closed out competition at The Velvet, hosted by Murray State University at the Country Club of Paducah, finishing 10th overall in the 16-team field.

The Hornets posted team rounds of 319, 309, and 314 for a three-round total of 942. ASU was led by Kierra Williams, who delivered the team's top individual finish. Williams carded rounds of 83, 78, and 76 to place 42nd overall at 21-over (237).

Carmen Fletcher and Thayika Kittiyanaruewat also provided steady play for Alabama State. Fletcher tied for 31st with a 232 (+16), while Kittiyanaruewat tied for 34th at 233 (+17). Yaiza Fernandez finished tied for 68th (247, +31), and Lucia Ibanez Parada rounded out the lineup in 75th (250, +34).

Two Hornets competed as individuals. Lindsey Christiana Marcellus shot 173 (+29) across two rounds, and Iman Shah finished at 262 (+46).

Troy University claimed the team title with an 820, while Belmont's Sloane Biddle, Murray State's Elin Tynan, UNC Asheville's Pennie Osterberg, and Troy's Constanza Quiroga shared medalist honors at 221 (+5).

Alabama State returns to action SAS HBCU Invitaitonal at the Presentwood Country Club in Cary, N.C.
