ATLANTA, Ga. | Alabama State University women's golf turned in a strong performance at the BGCA Bridgestone HBCU Invitational, finishing third overall with a three-round total of 929 (306-303-320).
The Lady Hornets placed behind team champion North Carolina A&T (894) and runner-up Howard (904), edging Texas Southern (934) and Bethune-Cookman (973) for the top-three finish.
Individually, Alabama State was led by Kierra Williams, who secured a top-10 finish in ninth place with rounds of 75-75-79 for a total of 229. She was closely followed by Lucia Ibanez Parada, who tied for 10th at 230 (75-76-79). Carmen Fletcher also had a strong showing, finishing 13th with a 233 (78-76-79).
Rounding out the lineup, Thayika Kittiyanaruewat tied for 16th at 239 (78-76-85), while Lindsey Christiana Marcellus finished 23rd at 258 (88-87-83).
North Carolina A&T's Ekaterina Prokhorova claimed medalist honors with a record-setting 202 (67-68-67).
