Alabama State Track & Field Posts School Record, and Personal Bests at Vanderbilt Invitational

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Alabama State Hornets and Lady Hornets turned in an impressive showing at the Vanderbilt Invitational, highlighted by a school record, and a strong list of personal-best performances.

School Records

Amaya Burrows etched her name into the record books with a historic performance in the shot put, posting a throw of 14.13 meters to establish a new Alabama State school record.

Personal Best Performances

Several Hornets delivered career performances across the weekend:

  • Emani Perry recorded a personal best of 3,066 points in the pentathlon

  • Kaden McKire posted a PR of 4,197 points in the heptathlon

  • Noel Asiedu turned in multiple personal bests, scoring 4,082 points in the heptathlon and running 7.09 seconds in the 60 meters

  • Shone Walters clocked a personal-best 5:09.56 in the one mile

  • Jada Chevalier ran 8.49 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles, a new career best

  • Lundon Johnson posted a PR of 55.84 seconds in the 400 meters

The Hornets' performances at Vanderbilt showcased continued growth and momentum as Alabama State progresses through the indoor season.
