Volleyball Downs Stillman in Straight Sets, 3-0

With its second win in a row, the Alabama State volleyball team swept host team Stillman, 3-0 (25-20, 25-17, 25-15) Tuesday night at Brightright Gym.

Alabama State's (9-16, 2-0 SWAC) freshman Maya Bell tallied a match-high of 13 kills to go with her match-high three aces.

Also for the Lady Hornets, senior Ana Pego set 28 assists and led the team in digs with nine. Erika Thompson had a season high of seven kills, along with one service ace and a block to add to her numbers. Roselande Corneille added eight kills and eight digs to the Lady Hornets win. Asia Manning had a season high of six kills and eight digs as well.

The Lady Hornets will return to action on Friday as they travel to Baton Rouge, La. to take on the Lady Tigers of Texas Southern during the Southern University Tournament. The first serve is set for noon.
