Led behind the efforts of Junior
Kaila Ryanthe Alabama State bowling team concluded the ASU Hornet Invitational as they fell to Bethune-Cookman 4-3 to take fourth place.

"I feel very good about every aspect of the day," said head coach
Andrew Chatmon. "The communication, commitment to execution, following instructions, the heart they showed, the fight they put up. At the same time we have an opportunity for improvement in the spare department."
The Lady Hornets started the day against Bethune-Cookman, which they defeated4-2. The next match would be a difficult one as they would face Tulane as the winner would face UAB in the championship match. The Hornets would go up 2-0 over the Blazers before losing to them 4-2
Tulane would go on to the Invitational in seven games as they defeated UAB 4-3. Bethune-Cookman took thirdand Alabama Statefinished in the fourth spot.The remaining field is as follows: fifth place was picked up byJackson State, sixthAlabama A&M, seventh LouisianaTech, eighthFlorida A&M, ninthTexas Southern, and Southern finished in tenth.
Jennafer Mallot from UAB was awarded the MVP of the invitational. All-Tournament team members included Hannah Ryan,
Kaila Ryan (ASU), Madeleine McDuff (UAB), and Jekayla Bafford (JSU).
Ryan, a Dayton, Oh native placed third in the individual standing, averaginga 195 throughout the weekend, earning a spot on the all-tournament team.
"Kalia has stepped up this year and taken control along with Danielle as the leader of the team as we knew they would be," said Chatmon. "They have been an example to the younger players, about what commitmentmeans and drive to excel. I believe they will really take us a long way this year."
Alabama State will be back in action for the Track Kat Klash next weekendNovember 21-23in Houston, Texas.
