The long awaited trip home has finally come for the Alabama State women's soccer team.Â

The Lady Hornets (3-4 overall) are returning for a home match after opening the regular season with six of its' first seven on the road.Â

It has been two weeks since ASU last played at home when it defeated South Carolina-Upstate 1-0 back on Aug. 29.Â

Alabama State will welcome in Jacksonville State (3-4) Sunday at 1 p.m. at the ASU Soccer Complex for a nonconference tilt.Â

The teams had a memorable match in last season's meeting. The Gamecocks were able to pull out a 2-1 double overtime nail-biter in Jacksonville last Sept. 20.Â

Aaliyah Lewis got the Lady Hornets on the board first in the 31
st minute, but Kristen Hoo answered back for the equalizer in the 34
th minute. It took 108 minutes to decide the outcome before Katt Dowd scored on an assisted shot.Â

The Lady Hornets' offense has been led by Lewis, who has three goals and an assist. Senior goalkeeper
Kylee Hathaway has totaled 57 saves and a .814 save percentage in seven matches. Hathaway has faced 122 shots and has registered three shutouts.

Excluding a 15-0 win against Mississippi Valley State, the Gamecocks have played even against their opposition. Jacksonville State has totaled 11 goals against 11 goals in all other matches. The Gamecocks are led by Courtney Hurt, who has six goals and three assists. Kelsey Bright is another player to watch on offense. Bright has tallied five goals and three assists.Â
