Alabama State got nice performances from Rachel Smith (team high 11 kills, 10 digs) and Kutsch (18 assists, one service ace, and two digs)

"The whole tournament overall saw our kids grow up," said head coach Penny Lucas-White.   "I felt like we were getting some rhythm and it's taken us a little longer than I expected.  We are taking more sets from teams and we have had to make some adjustments.  We should reap from the last two weeks in this upcoming week."

Marshall from the Lady Hornets received All-Tournament team honors.

"Myla is a warrior. It has been a pleasure having her as part of my program for these four years," Lucas White said of Myla.  "She will fight no matter what the score is and she is totaling deserving of this award.  She's a leader on the court and a captain off the court.  She gets it and she knows how to show up and compete regardless of the condition
You can't be anything, but pleased with a player like Myla."

The Lady Hornets are in action again on Thursday when they travel to Durham, NC to face North Carolina Central.
The game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
