Montgomery, Ala. – For the fifth time this season, Alabama State volleyball has earned more than one Southwestern Athletic Conference weekly award as senior Bayle' Bennett and juniors E'laisah Young and McKenzie Boland were all selected by the league office on Tuesday evening.
 
Bennett was tabbed SWAC Offensive Player of the Week, Young for the second consecutive week and fifth time overall was named SWAC Newcomer of the Week while Boland garnered SWAC Setter of the Week for the second time in as many weeks.
 
Bennett was a threat offensively all week as the senior hit .333 with the second-most kills on the team securing 29 averaging 3.62 per set. Bennett also showed up defensively tallying the second-most digs on the team with 22 (2.75/set) and the second-most blocks with five including one solo.
 
In two sets against Florida A&M, Bennett recorded a team-high nine kills on a team-high .368 hitting percentage with nine digs. In the 3-0 win over Alcorn State Bennett posted the second-most (third-most in the match) kills with eight (.333) alongside a team- and match-high nine digs. In the dominating 3-0 win over MVSU, Bennett logged 12 kills on a .310 hitting percentage with two blocks and a service ace. 


 
As the middle hitter, Young posted 18 kills (2.25/set) with a .333 hitting percentage during the Lady Hornets' 2-1 week. Additionally, Young added a team-high three service aces, four digs and five blocks including three solos. In the 3-0 win over Alcorn State, Young was on an offensive tear as the middle secured a match-high 11 kills on an errorless career-high .786 hitting percentage with a match-high two service aces and two blocks.


 
During the week Boland was all over the place as she recorded 100 out of Alabama State's 103 assists to set the offense to a .230 hitting percentage averaging 11.11 assists per set. Boland also recorded two service aces, 20 digs (third-most on the team) and a block.
 
In the match against FAMU, Boland recorded her fourth double double of the season with a match-high 25 assists and a team-high 11 digs. Boland set the offense to back-to-back .300 or better hitting percentage with a match-high 30 assists (.321) against Alcorn State and nearly a career-high 45 assists (.324) against MVSU.
