MONTGOMERY, Ala. | The Alabama State golf programs traveled to East Canton (Ohio) to participate in the Althea Gipson/Renee Powell Collegiate Invitational, but it wasn't just about the playing experience over the four-day period.

The teams had an opportunity to attend the Solheim Cup, and not only attend, but get a behind the scenes look at the tournament. They also toured the Pro Football Hall of Fame, before hitting the course at the Clearview Golf Club on a course that was made from hand.

On the men's side, Max Adams (London, England) took home low medalist honors with a four-under par 140 total with a pair of 70s (-2) in each of the two rounds. He was able to win the tournament by seven strokes, while his teammate Thomas Caddell (Vance, Ala.) finished third with a 5-over 149, while Bishop Stringer (Cecil, Ala.) finished at 6-over 150 after a final round even.

The Hornets finished the weekend with 12 stroke win over Texas Southern with a team total 14-over par 590.

Meanwhile, on the women's side, Teresa Diaz Dorta (Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain) finished fourth overall at 18-over par, sic shots ahead of her teammate Iman Adams (Cape Town, South Africa) at 24-over par.

UP NEXT
Alabama State returns to action September 24 in Atlanta at the Hall of Fame Championships hosted by the BCGCA on the men's side, while the women return to action in match play on October 3 against North Carolina A&T.
