Rhodes, Adams Earn SWAC Weekly Honors

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Southwestern Athletic Conference has named Alabama State's Jada Rhodes and Brooke Adams to SWAC Volleyball Weekly Honors for their outstanding performances during the past weekend of conference play. The Lady Hornets have won nine straight matches including a 9-1 record in conference play this season.

Jada Rhodes was selected as offensive player of the week after recording 54 kills across three winning matches over the weekend at the SWAC Round-Up II. She tallied 20 kills against Grambling State and Arkansas-Pine Bluff, and 14 kills against Prairie View A&M. Rhodes is currently ranked fifth in the league in total kills with 269 on the season.

Brooke Adams was named newcomer of the week after registering a total of 31 assists, 24 digs, six total points across, five aces, and one kill in three matches against Grambling State, Prairie View A&M, and Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Adams is currently ranked second in the league in total service aces with 31 on the year.

The Alabama State women's volleyball team looks to win their tenth straight match as they head to the Sunshine State to take on Bethune-Cookman on Friday (Nov. 4) at 6 p.m.
