MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State head coach
Jodie Smith announced the class of 2023 who signed a National Letter of Intent on Wednesday that includes nine players from around the country.

Kassandra Carpenter, a defender from Gypsum (Colo.), played at Eagle Valley High School. She also ran cross country and played basketball. Carpenter was named First-Team All-Conference as a junior and is an honor roll student at the school while serving as the team captain for basketball.

Morgan Dunham, a midfielder/defender from Madison (Ala.), played at Bob Jones High School. She earned Honorable Mention All-State honors her junior season as well as several academic honors including being named to the Superintendent Student Advisory Committee (11 & 12th grade), Alabama HOSA State Finalist (10th & 11th grade), AP Scholar with Distinction (11th grade), and being selected for the College Board National African American Recognition Program.

Morgan Goldman, a midfielder/forward from Coral Springs (Fla.), played at Marjory Stoneman Douglas. She has lettered in soccer and flag football for four years, being named a three-time team captain. Goldman helped Marjory Stoneman Douglas to a district and regional championship before leading them to the finals. She also played for the AC Delray Rush in Florida, helping the club to multiple championships.

Summer Jones, a defender from Chambersburg (Penn.), played at Chambersburg Area Senior High School. She was selected to play in the all-state game and was awarded National Honors awards.

Erica Mathews, a forward from Kernersville (N.C.), played at East Forsythe High School/Kernersville.

Bryanna Russell, a goalkeeper from Highland Village (Texas) played at Marcus High School/Highland Village. She earned All-State honors in 2021, was named the Freshman of the Year, and was also named the Goalkeeper of the Year in 2021 and 2022. She earned First Team All-District honors three times. Russell helped lead the team to the 2023 6A Texas state championship. She is also the goalkeeper for the Dallas Texans ECNL.

Sydney Washington, a forward from Woodbridge (Va.), played at Forest Park High School/Woodbridge. She earned Second-Team All-American honors and played in Denmark at the DANA Cup against countries from around the world.

Ava Webber, a midfielder from Gretna (Neb.), played at Gretna High School. She is a varsity letterwinner for her high school team and helped lead her team to five state cup championships while being named Best 11 Player of the Game award.

Tatyana Williams, a forward/defender from Waxahachie (Texas), played at Red Oak ISD. IN 2021-22, she scored three goals and added five assists before leading her team to the 2022 District, Bi-District, and Region championships. She was named Academic All-District at the same time. In 2022-23, she scored with goals and added 10 assists while leading her team to the District and Bi-District championship. She was named First-Team All-District that year.
