“I have been preaching to the team that we have been using the pre-conference schedule to get us ready for conference action and we came out and were ready to play a conference game,” Head Coach
Penny Lucas-White said. “While I am happy we were able to win, there were still too many points given to Alcorn. We committed 14 service errors and we have to get better at that if we are going to move on.”
“We have a few days to get ready for an Alabama A&M team that has consistently been one of the top programs in the conference and we have to play them on the road, so we have to improve before we got to their place.”
ASU moves to 1-16 on the season and 1-0 in conference action and Alcorn falls to 1-12 and 0-3. ASU will be back on the road for their first conference road game of the season at Alabama A&M University on Thursday, Sept. 27. The game is set for 7 p.m.
