The Alabama State bowling team has moved to the number four slot, after day two of competition in the ASU Hornet Invitational Saturday.
"The team jelled today and I knew that the traditional games would be the high point for us and they proved it today," said head coach
Andrew Chatmon. "Everybody executed and committed to what we talked about at practice. They played totally different from yesterday, in that they didn't deviate from the plan. It was an exceptional day for us."
The Lady Blazers of UAB captures the number one spot in the tournament (8-2) after totaling a pin count of 9383. Tulane University drops down to the number two spot with a total pin count of 9330, giving them a 7-3 overall match count. The two teams are followed by 3

Alabama State opened day two of the tournament with wins against B-CU (804-797) and Southern (888-764) before falling to UAB (858-959). The Hornets' would beat Florida A&M (949-839) to move them in to fourth place, before falling to UAB 914-924, by only 10 pins in the last round of the day.
The Lady Hornets had two players with top 20 performances.
Kaila Ryan finished with a 975 pin count placing her in the 3rd spot while
Jessica Sawmiller is in 18
th with 896.
The brackets have now been set for the concluding day of the ASU Hornet Invitational. The seeds are as follows:
Match A: UAB vs. Tulane;
Match B: B-CU vs. ASU;
Match C: AAMU vs. JSU;
Match D: LTU vs. FAMU;
Match E: TSU vs. SU.
