@BamaStateWSC adds a pair to signing class this week

MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State soccer coach Jodie Smith added another pair of players to the signing class, with Madison Tyler and Sunny Bowlin-Stacy.

Tyler was prepped at Maricopa (Ariz.) High School and earned First Team All-Region the last two seasons, while earning Honorable Mention honors during the 2017-18 season. She also received the 2017-18 Academic Excellence award.

"She is a talented defender that can play all of the back four positions," Smith said. "I think her ability to win the ball in the defensive third, find our front line, and then get forward to support the attack will be big for us."

Bowlin-Stacy was a four-sport athlete at Bartlett (Alaska) High School, where she was also a member of the honor roll.  During her first two seasons of soccer, Bowlin-Stacy was named First Team All-Conference, scored a combined 11 goals, and dished out 47 assists – including 25 in 2018.

"Sunny is a very technical player that is very good at taking on players," Smith said. "She is crafty around the goal and finishing as well as having the vision to connect with her teammates. Alaska has been very good to us, and Sunny will continue that strong connection."
