Ipock elevated to assistant coach for @BamaStateWSC

MONTGOMERY, Ala. | The Alabama State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and head soccer coach Jodie Smith announced the elevation of Marie Ipock to assistant coach for the upcoming season.

Ipock, who served as a graduate assistant last season for the Lady Hornets, takes over for Taylor Borman who left the program earlier this season. Last season, Ipock was responsible for the goalkeepers and defenders for the Lady Hornets.

Prior to Alabama State, Ipock took part in practice plans, film sessions, recruiting, travel organization and day-to-day operations at Johnson & Wales. In 2017, the team went 8-6-2 and recorded the best record in school history. The Wildcats were 14-14-3 with Ipock on staff and had the highest-grade point average in the athletic department twice, including a 3.72 GPA in 2018.

She also worked for Colorado United in Littleton (Colo.) from 2016 through 2019, coaching for the Colorado Olympic Development Program (2018-19) and for the Bladium International Soccer Academy (2016-19) which is connected with Global Imaging Sports which works to send players to have trials with European Clubs.

A graduate of Metropolitan State University in Denver, she was an all-conference midfielder and helped Metro State to four NCAA Division II tournament appearances. She was instrumental in helping the team reach the Sweet 16 two times, playing in 51 of 61 games and helping the team to a 51-19-12 record during her career.
