Hacker and Walerczyk Selected to SWAC Weekly Honors

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Alabama State freshman McKinley Hacker SWAC Offensive Player Of The Week for the second week in a row while also naming freshman Katelyn Walerczyk Defensive Player Of The Week.

This week marks Hacker's second-straight SWAC Offensive POTW nod. The Maricopa, Arizona native helped push the Hornets to their second-straight win after netting a score in Sunday's shutout 2-0 win over South Carolina State.

Freshman Katelyn Walerczyk secured the Defensive POTW with a game-clinching goal in a 2-0 shutout over South Carolina State. This marks her first POTW nod.

When asked about his players earning SWAC Honors, Head Coach Jodie Smith had this to say, "Our team had two great wins. Katelyn and McKinley played big roles in our success and I'm very pleased to see them recognized for their hard work!"
