BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southwestern Athletic Conference has named Alabama State junior
Kassandra Schoen offensive player of the week while also naming senior
Sheila Sanchez goalkeeper of the week.
Schoen earned offensive player of the week after recording a hat trick for the Lady Hornets while firing three shots on goal, three shots, and three goals in a 5-0 conference win against Prairie View A&M. She is currently ranked third in the league in points (10) and goals (5).
Sanchez gets the goalkeeper of the week nod after recording 15 saves for the Lady Hornets and held the Lady Tigers of Texas Southern scoreless in a tie. In addition, she recorded seven saves with zero goals allowed in a 5-0 road win over Prairie View A&M. Sanchez is currently ranked tenth in the NCAA in saves per game.
