Women’s Soccer Adds FGCU Transfer Johnsen-Morken

MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Lykke Johnsen-Morken has signed with Alabama State University to play for the Lady Hornets soccer team in 2024, announced Head Coach Jodie Smith on Tuesday.

"We are excited to add a player of her quality and experience to our Team," Smith said. "I think she will be a good contributor on the offensive end of the field for us."

Johnsen-Morken transfers to Alabama State from Florida Gulf Coach University in Ft. Myers, Fla., and will have three years of eligibility remaining.

The Tonsberg, Norway native played one season at FGC, making six appearances for the Eagles and playing 58 minutes on the pitch. She played a season-high 22 minutes in a 2-0 win over the University of Jacksonville. She recorded an assist in the first carer game and launched a shot in 2023 as FGCU won the A-SUN Championship.

Johnsen-Morken played for the Norwegian 2nd Division and represented Norway on the U16 National Team, competing against Juventus and Manchester United in European Club competition.
